Domain Name Analyzer
One of my favourite domaining tools is Domain Name Analyzer (DNA) by Domain Punch.
For those of us who are cash-strapped most of the time it’s free to download and use. I love it because you can put in a few hundred or more domain ideas and it checks for availability against the whois database.
It’s what I would call a medium paced application as it’s not unbelievably quick, but not horribly slow either. You can save each list as a DNA file and sort to find the available names, which like cream, conveniently rise to the top.
You can use templates to look for combinations eg. LNLN (Letter, Number, Letter, Number) and create domains from keywords, (great for processing geo domains). Many TLDs can be checked including .in, .info and others as well as the usual suspects.
When I first read about DNA, I wondered why you wouldn’t just use a bulk checker such as Moniker’s or Godaddy’s but then I read about ‘domain snooping’, people spying on your beautifully conceived domains and registering them if you hesitated. DNA gives you a more secure experience.
One day, I’ll buy myself a copy of Domain Research Tool.
’til next time.
